I purchased the Axim and a Dlink CF WIFI card and have found that the card works intermitantly depending on the connection of the card. putting slight pressure on the back of the card causes the connection to work fine. 2 Questions. Has anyone else had this problem? If so does anyone know if the pproblem is the card or the slot in the Axim?

dbuck - I have the DLink DCF-660W card and a DLink DI-614+ wireless router. At first I had some problems with the connection as well, it seems that when I reinserted the card, the connection would work for a few minutes before dropping off. I thought the card was defective since it only worked for a few minutes each time. However, it turns out that the channel I had been using with my laptop's PCMCIA adapter (Dlink DWL-650+) wasn't strong enough for the CF card. I used the SiteSurvey tab, found under Settings > System > DCF-660W, to find a better channel to use. As soon as I changed channels, the wireless connection has been rock solid for hours, until my battery gets drained, but that's another issue! Hope this helps.

I just got my DLink 660W CF card yesterday and rushed home to play with it. I also got the DLink 713P wireless router a week earlier. The router works - even the onboard print server is working. I installed the software for the CF card and followed every instruction to the letter and NOTHING. I then went to the DLink site and read all the FAQ's I could stand - It boiled down to upgrading the firmware on the router. So around midnight I upgrade the firmware.

My 'wireless' gateway doesn't have a 'wireless' configuration tab now <_< There is no way to configure the SSID, Channel and the other junk you need to configure.....

So I decided to do a hard reset and hope to wipe out the upgraded firmware to factory specs.... No luck...... But upon rebooting everything (the Ax, computer, router, cable modem) - I got a signal! but at 1Mbps <_<

I talked with DLink at 1 am and they said that I should have a 'wireless' tab in my gateway config screen - but I don't.....

So I guess I'm screwed?

Should I send the router back?

I'm just mad

Heck I have 30 days.... I will keep trying

You can try reflashing with an older firmware, if it exists. Here's a link to the DLink FTP server where the 713P files are - ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/di713p/Firmware

Good luck!
