I posted this question in the newbies section too. I thought that I might get more responses here in hardware...
Okay... I've had my ax for several months and other than the disappointing speaker/recorder quality, compared to my previous IPAQ, it has been a super deal. Now I have run into my next question. I just upgraded to Activesync 3.7 and now my ax clicks like I am touching the screen over and over. It also turns itself on by itself. I do have it in a Belkin flip case but it just turned itself on and began the clicking thing just sitting on my desk out of the case!! I have check my activesync settings and that is set to only sync when connected so that doesn't seem to be it. Does anyone have a answer for this phantom clicking and is this a common problem or as they say "is it just me"?

hello,
I've had my axim x5 advanced (2003 version) for a little under a month, and just noticed these "phantom clicks" as well. They haven't been that much of a nuisance, and I haven't been able to establish any pattern as to what my be causing them. Usually a soft reset resolves the issue. Other than this, I've been extremely satisfied with this thing. Anyone else out there with phantom clicks and any ideas? I've treated this thing like a baby, so there have been no accidents or any potential "traumas" that may have led to this. Thanks guys!

Due to the current financial restraints, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.
