Sound Crap

Just got my Axim today, hoorah! I test the record function and the playback sounds like crap, all popping and staticy. Is there a fix for this? Oh, how do I set up multiple profiles? I want to synce with Groupwise at work. When I connect to another PC will it ask me to create another profile? Thanks for everyones info. :)

There was a report that the recordings using the button on the side were noisy, but if you use a software tap to start the recording it was quiet. I don't use recording, so I can't tell you how to do that, but it should be in the User's Guide. (You did read the User's Guide, right? )

I've done some experimenting with the Axim X5's recording functionality. Initially I thought it was rather poor, until I plugged a set of headphones into it. The onboard speaker only seems to be good for an occasional "beep".

The other thing you might want to look into is the quality setting you are recording at. Up the quality and you'll get better results, with a corresponding increase in file size, of course.

There was a thread on this issue, I believe last week. You might be interested in my workaround using various settings.
