Update axim A01: disaster!!!

90% of operating system is corrupted!! All application and many utility aren't in memory. Activesync not response. It 's die forever??

Been thinking about your post and trying to figure out what exactly is going on/happened. What were you trying to update A01 to? A03, 04, 05?

My axim rom, first of this disaster, was A00. The language system was english. I have downloaded the file R59756.EXE ( english version, A01), but the update wasn't run because the update utility told me this message : "Your language system is italian . It doesn't correspond to language update". Then i have downloaded the italian version R60042.EXE. In this case, the update was fine, until the screen "System updating" on Axim. In this step axim entered in total freeze, after much time. Now the axim is in italian (before was in english) and all application don't work(except WMPlayer!! ), including Activesync. The message error is the follow: " No program available. Tap Start > Settings > System tab > Memory, stop programs that did not automatically stop, and try again". But it is impossible enter in Settings. How i can resolve this problem?? I'can't update with another version becaouse the activsync not work.

Not a problem at all. I think I've got an idea of what is going on--but it might not be good.

Don't take my word for it, but if I recall correctly, you might be hosed. If I'm wrong, I'm sure some of the good people on this site will correct me, but I remember reading something about someone who updated a ROM to a different language version and it crashed out the Ax.

I'd suggest a hard reset, but that will only take you back to basically where you are now...and that's an improper ROM. Is this a new Ax? From what you say, it sounds like it wasn't working right from the start. Might be something Dell should get involved in.

What do you think guys?? Anybody have any thoughts?

i have follow the instructions of your thread. But at the 3/12 step of system update the pda go in freeze mode, and after much time i have soft reset. Now the only screen is the align screen utility, but there isn't way to exit . How i can run the home menu? Help meee plese
