SD Card Troubles

Open question/call for help to anyone out there...

I just bought a 256 MB SD card for my Axim, and for some reason, the damned thing doesn't want to work. It's a Kingmax waterproof SD card, (Don't ask why I bought a waterproof card... it just seemed neat.) Anyways, onto my problem... I slide said card into my Axim and the unit turns on, but nothing happens... no dialogue box, nothing. It's as if i have the blank plastic one that shipped with the Ax in there. I see nothing in the file explorer that signifies an SD card present, and I'm not sure what to do now. I have no other SD card, this is the first one I've bought, and i have no other devices through which to test the card.

Any suggestions (besides returning the card... I'll do that as a last resort) would be helpful..

Thanks!

Tim:)

Did you try going into the start ->settings -> memory and see if it shows that a SD card is there? Might try getting a memory card reader for your PC and check to see if it is formatted. Some cards are designed for cameras that are a special format file system.

PS: The Unit will turn on even if the "dummy" card is inserted.

Try a soft reset. That forces the system to look at all the resources and it generally "finds" the cards.
