ROM update failed.

Ok this is my first post so go easy!!

I was making an entry into my calender and out of nowhere I got this message "Rom update failed". I have no idea where this came from as I have not updated anything. The Axim crashed so i did a soft reset. It will now only boot up to the Dell screen and no further. I rang dell and they instructed me to do a hard reset but that fixed nothing, its just hanging there at the Dell screen with the backlight on. Dell are sending me out a new on straight away, but i am curios why this happened. Anyone here come across this before.

Thanks Guys!
Proud owner of a new Dell Axim.

I have never experienced that. Normally a soft reset or a hard reset would solve a "hanging" problem. Was this with WM 2003 or 2002?
