Exclamation Power Button Faulty?

Hello,

I have a question about the Power Button. When I turn on my AXIM, the backlight does not turn on automatically. The ONLY way I can make this happen (no matter which other settings have been checked or unchecked) is by selecting "Light the display if a button is pressed or the screen is tapped" under the Battery Power tab. In other words, the ONLY way to have the backlight come on when I press the Power button ON is to have this box checked. This never seems to affect any other PPC model I have ever used concerning the light coming on by default. Does anyone know if this is a hardware defect on just my unit? OR is this an AXIM issue? Thanks in advance to anyone who can try this on their AXIM!

My guess is that you are holding down on the button too long, either in turning it on or off. There is a feature on the Axim that depressing the button for a full second or two results in turning off the back light. Try a quick press of the button and see if that solves the problem.
