WARNING !! HP printing utility and PPC 2003

Hi All

I think there are major issues with hp mobile printing for pocket pc

which can be found at

http://www.hp.com/pond/mep/download/ppcdownload.html

When I installed and ran it the contents of main memory became corupted to the point that all data and apps could not be found !!!!

Hard reset needed to clear problem

I reinstalled the hp mobile software ran it and the same problem occured needing a hard reset.

I don't know if this is a PPC 2003 / Axim or PPC 2003/any other device problem but it is serious

Anyone care to try it out ?

It may be an HP vs. Dell problem. I installed HP printing on my iPaq without any problems.

One thing I note is that the page you link to is the PPC 2002 version. That might also be the source of the problem. Try the 2003 version instead.

This could very well be. I have had problems installing HP Mobile printing on my Axim. I just purchased a iPAQ 2215 and I can use the software without a problem. Printing is great on my iPAQ.

Weird problems. Axim started to lockup. Had to soft reset whenever I tried to print. I did have a Activesync disconnect while the app was installing. Tried to remove the app and reinstall it. It did reinstall but I am not sure if the damage was already done. The app never worked right. So I just decided to remove it and forget about it. Later I eventually did a hard reset due to other problems.

I have an Axim X5 300mHz using 2003 ROM A05 and have HP Mobile print on my pocket pc. It alone does not work...I could not install a printer properly. I added WESTEK ClearVue Suite and everything works perfect.

Hi colinkhalid

I had the exact same problem after spending an hour upgrading & reinstalling - hard set the only thing that worked.

I contacted HP & they gave me the 2003 link already posted - I too was reluctant without backing up....but have it installed and works fine now!

Go on, give it a go....
