Brand new Axim... Many, many problems
Just got my axim a few days ago. It freezes up on me almost every 5 minutes. Sometimes, when the unit is off and I go to turn it on, it won't, so I have to do a soft reset for it to start up. Every now and then, the connection to my computer (also a Dell) is lost. I have 2 memory cards in my unit, a 128mb flash & a 128mb smartcard. I've called Dell, they say it's an operating system problem (Pocket PC 2002), a patch will be available in two weeks - according to them. Anyone else out there have this problem?

lol, sounds like they're full of it.
If you just got it a few days ago it SHOULD be WM2003, not PPC2002.. Either way I should not be that unstable. If you do a hard reset do you still get problems? Could it be software that you've installed that is making it unstable?

Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

I sounds like its time for tech support amd maybe a replacement.
I have to agree with Howard2k, you should have gotten the 2003 OS and not the 2002 OS. I received my Ax about two weeks ago and it had 2003 installed. And I to have a dell laptop computer that the Ax is attached to and have had no problems to date with either the Ax communicating or synching with the computer. Also you do have 30 days to return the unit, so this might yet be another option for you to pursue.

You need a new Axe Dude. Dell cannot simply blame the software. Fact is, you've done a hard reset and it still happening. If it was the software we'd all be experiencing it.
Call them, tell them about the hard resets WITHOUT the memory card and make sure you get a replacement. Good luck. ![]()
