No problem here (although I do run Mandrake Linux as my main OS and all PCs sit behind a Linux hardware firewall). :o)

I found a tool on grc.com which shuts down DCOM so I shouldn't be vounarable anymore. I don't think it'd cause a problem for me because I'm running behind my router's firewall and I also have Zone Alarm on my PC.

DCOM RPC is a core windows process. You dont want to disable until its ABSOLUTELY neccisary.

You WILL experience fairly severe issues with windows if you keep it disabled, that is, if it truely disables DCOM and remote procedure calls (RPC)

entwisi seems to be one of the smarter ones. If I'm correct I believe the worm affects Windows OSs? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm looking to try Linux here pretty soon.

just because of this?

Windows OS's are so often (IMO) attacked because they are the majority. If Linux had Windows Market share I am sure there would be more attempts at hacking it. Comes with the neighborhood I suppose. Big dog gets attacked.
