Exclamation Axim 300 screen more responsive than Axim 400?

Hi all,

I bought an Axim 300 2 weeks ago, loved it and bought another Axim 400 a week ago so I could give the Axim 300 as a gift to someone else.

Now I have both Axims set up identically with Radio Shack screen savers (cheap). The Axim 300 screens seems to respond faster than the Axim 400 screen.

Especially when I try to press the Start icon in the upper left corner of my screen. The Axim 300 instantly pops open the Start menu while the Axim 400 waits a little. I have to keep the stylus on the Ax400 for a split second before it opens the menu.

This is confusing? anyone else seen this issue before? Anyone able to resolve this? interestingly I would have never found out about this if I only had one Axim.

thanks

I have a Axim 300 and i think my Axim is faster than what people say about their Axim 400. But this could just be from me switching from a slow Palm to a very fast Pocket PC. Anyways, you could be right.

I have a 400. At my job I manage 5 axim 300's. I have not noticed a difference between the sensitivity of the screens. I would assume that you need to send your new 400 back to dell so they can replace your screen. Sounds like a hardware issue if you ask me.

I think it is a hardware issue. But I don't know whether I should complain about this to Dell or not. The Axim 400 does work, its just that its screen responds fraction of a second slower than my Axim 300.

I even used both without the screen protectors and I can see the same difference. But when I send it to Dell will they notice it?

this may sound stupid but this could be the problem. are you sure that your Ax 400 is set at 400?

Yes, I even changed it to Maximum performance. It is basically a screen sensitivity issue. The one on Ax 400 is less sensitivie so seemingly performs slower..
