5 thick black (runny) lines at bottom of screen

anybody else have this? this is a replacment refurbd unit, that i origionally thought i could live with, but is now starting to annoy me. the black lines run more and more into the color as they stretch. so all 5 lines stretch or run into color. just wondering if this is common. i'm probably going to get it replaced.

replace it.. Sounds like a damaged screen.

When you tilt it towards you, does it seem more noticeable?

What I'm pretty sure it is is the 5 Backlights at the bottom of the screen used to light it up. It's normal, and everyone has it on their Axim.

He said THICK BLACK RUNNY LINES... I don't think it's the backlight...

yeah let me see, but i really dont think it is. they are pretty thick, and i dont remember seeing them on the axim that was before it. the tech support guy i called said he has heard of this maybe 10 times in the 8 months hes worked there. they kinda look like this _[ ]_[ ]_[ ]_[ ]_[ ]_ and gradually go from a darker black at the bottom, running intofull gradual color.

If you turn off the backlight can you still see them?

HOLD the power button until the backlight goes off. don't press it and turn of the Axim. HOLD it for a few seconds.

We had a thread a while back about some people seeing the backlights and I posted a picture on this thread . Is this what you are seeing?

Yup, normal. If it's really noticeable, as in REALLY noticeable, Dell may replace your unit. But the next one will look just like the picture. They all have that. It's the lamps for the backlight
