Axim and Serial Cable
Anyone out there using there AXIM with a serial cable. My desktop runs Windows 95 with serial port.I`m amazed at the difference in
technology over the past 8 years. Although I have access to more up to date computers elsewhere does anyone have any suggestions regarding using an Axim A5 with Windows 95 and Serial Ports. Is it acutally possible? If it is how?Do I need to get hold of an older version of Active Sync (3.1) or can I use what comes in the companion CD Rom.

I've read (here) that newer versions of ActiveSync (3.5 and above) will not work with Win95. I don't really know what that means as far as utility with the Axim but it looks like you'll be stuck with the 3.1 version.
Dell sells both serial cables and serial cradles for the Axim.

Thankyou both for that useful information. My flatmate should be giving me his old laptop (Windows 2000/USB ports) as he is in process of buyiong a tablet.Because Im a medical student my computer equipment gets updated slowly very slowly.Had a look on Microsoft Website re Active Sync 3.1 cant seem to find it anyone got suggestions on how to get hold of it/make it work with Windows Mobile 2003.If I can find that I will order the serial cables or I will wait till flatmate (E-engineering and Business Student sorts it).He has an Orange SPV so I suppose I could use his version of Active Sync for the time being.
