Axim X5 Vista Help!!!!!!

I am currently running Pocket PC 2002 on my Dell Axim X5, I am also running Windows Vista on my Laptop. I have read in many forums that in order to sync to a vista computer you first have to update to PC 2003, and I am planning to do that but when I look to purchase the upgrade on ebay they all say you need to have your axim sync'd to your computer to perform the upgrade. Does anyone know how to perform the upgrade using a Vista computer via memory card or any other means?

I think you may be out of luck here - can you not use someone else's XP machine ??? You can come round and borrow mine :-)

haha, I do have a older xp machine at my house, so i guess i just need to sync it to that machince and install the upgrade from there then it will be ready to sync to vista. What is the best way to sync it to a XP machine, I havent done any research on XP, because i know that there is no program on that machine to sync. What would be my best bet for a program

I think the instructions may be on a readme file on the disk - though I don't know for sure as I have never used the PPC2003 update. I think it should do it's own thing once started. make sure you connect the IPAQ directly to a USB slot, and not through a USB hub. Make sure there are no power-cuts about to happen ! I've seen a number of threads on this one.

Be sure you have your Axim plugged into computer USB rather than USB hub when upgrading to 2003.

I did the upgrade to 2003 on my X5, works like a charm. :approve:
