Upgrade from 2002??

So.... is there anyway to upgrade from PPC 2002? I saw some stuff on e-bay but I don't really trust it.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, Ebay and private sales are the only ways you can get it since Dell doesn't sell it anymore. There have been quite a few reports of success using the ones sold on Ebay, but don't count on getting a legal copy there though.

yeh, I'd just love to not get scammed.

So something like this:
eBay: Dell Axim X5 PDA Series Windows Pocket PC 2003 Upgrade (item 200120219144 end time Jun-22-07 10:10:46 PDT)

probably isn't legal??

Being a newbie, what is the major differences between 2002 & 2003? Any performance differences (besides being about to use the unit with Window Vista, and I refuse to update my laptop until I am forced to do so).

Would someone please explain to me why I should (or must) upgrade to 2003?

Thanks,
NC

The major differance with me is that alot of programs arn't compatible with 2002. Like Birdiesync. I refuse to buy outlook but I wanted something like it and Mozilla Thunderbird and Sunbird (their calendar) are amazing. For a long time you couldn't sync to it. Now you can use birdiesync which doesnt work with 2002. So it made a huge differance because now my PDA is comptiable with the rest of my life on my laptop.

I also had alot of problems trying to get my gmail pop3 to work on my PDA. With 2003 is worked right away.

also on some of the IPAQs - don't know about the axim - the SD slots were not SDIO enabled. Upgrading to PPC2003 enabled this functionality. The IPAQs involved were the 3800,3900 and 5400 series.

I have a IPAQ 5450 and still run PPC2002 on it. It has integrated WiFi so I didn't need a SD WiFi card. The only other thing I couldn't use was a SD camera - but no real loss there.
