I have a an Axim X5, rom version A04, OS version 3.0.11171 (Build 11178).

Frequently when I turn it on, the password screen flashes repeatedly and I can't do anything except reset it. Most of the time it will work after that, though not all the time. Sometimes I have to reset it again.

Other times, I'll get past the logon screen and then nothing. I can't do anything without resetting.

I updated the firmware to A04 hoping it would help, but it didn't. I'm now thinking this is an OS problem anyway, but I can't figure out how to update the OS. I don't see where I can download an update anywhere.

If anyone has seen this or has a suggestion I would appreciate it. I just downloaded the CF update from Dell as a long shot, although I don't know why it would help. Sometimes I have a CF installed and sometimes not. It doesn't seem to matter as it relates to this problem.

Don't know if you have this on x5 but check settings lock there will then be a password which you can check on and off.
