X5 Power Problem - save my axim!

The power light never goes out, even when the x5 seems like its off.

Even when the main and backup battery are fully charged the x5 runs out of charge, the backup battery gets used up and the x5 loses its memory

I really want to get my x5 working again but i don't know what to do to fix it. The on/off button doesn't seem to physically stick down.

Also the on/off button works to swich the unit on/off when the AC adapter is plugged in, but it doesn't work when its only running on batteries. If that happens then I have to press the rest button to start the unit. As you know when you press reset+on/off the unit wipes the memory clean!

Does anyone have any ideas?

hopefully it can be saved from the bin

If you log on and nothings in memory. The cpu is running slow. works on ac adaptor. turns on and off. I'd say it needs a new battery. That backup battery issue with the axim x5 used to come up all the time on this site.

did a full reset and reinstalled everything, now the x5 works perfectly.

the green light still stays on all the time even when turned off, is this normal?

Did you call Dell Technical support? They might answer this kind of question
