Hi,
I have a dell Axim x5 it worked fine for a few years until, the tap screen stopped working. i did a hard reset, and i can get to where you align the screen. i can't get past there. does anyone know what is going on? i was thinking about replacing the entire tap screen.

Usually, most problems like this can be solved by doing a really good cleaning around the edges that are hard to see.
Basically, take a business card and clean under the crevices of the screen and case. If you're more brave, take the top shell off by removing the six screws on the bottom side of the pda. It's really easy to do. That exposes the entire screen for cleaning. If that doesn't do it, then disconnecting the display cables and reconnecting them might fix it. However, this requires a bit more bravery than the previous paragraph. But both tasks are easy to do and don't take long. The x5 is easier to take apart and is generally stronger than the x50 model. bernard.

Cleaning around the edges is a good idea and also if you have a screen protector, remove it.
