Sandisk WIFI PLUS...Problems
Hey all,
Just got the new Sandisk Wifi + 128MB for my Axim 2003.
Seems that I see the memory, and I see access points (although I can't connect to them, probaby because they are secured) but what I can't see is the signal icon on taskbar?
Anyone have this problem and fixed it? Techs are telling me to return card because of chipset issues and the Axim blah...
If it's not the A05 update, it's the components that attach to it... :(
Any help is appreciated.
Regards,
Obi

hemmm.... I finally got my Sandisk 128 + wifi to work yesterday. I was using the free pocketwinc that you can download from pcmag.com (you have to register first) then install it.
when you load it up, find an area where you know there is going to be a wifi access point. (or wardrive around until you see one blip up on the screen)
you will see a pad lock. if it is unlocked, then merry christmas to you. ;)
I couldn't connect, until the connection appeared in the bottom half of the screen (preferred networks) and then you right click and select edit and connect.
There will be 2 boxes, select the bottom box (enable wep) and hit ok.
Now right click on the connection in the top area and renew the ip address.
then you are ready to rock!
the icon should turn green.
good luck

Cool thanks...
Will try it.
P.S My connections work whenever there is an access point. Can't believe how many of my neighbours leave those access points exposed... :)

Obi.

You mention that you can enable the wep? Is that the same as the provisioning of wep? It will not let me with this version. Says I need to register first...

Hi... first post here, glad I joined though, I've already found some really good stuff thanks to the posters on here :approve:
I have a question about the Sandisk Wifi thingy, I noticed other posts saying that the memory wasn't usable in the Ax. Is this so? Or are you able to use the memory part ok?

Hey,
I'm new too. Actually I have not experienced any issues with the SANDisk WiFi CF Card or the Sandisk 256SD Memory. Both function as they should, and I don't have any complaints about them...
Regards,
Obi.

hi Titchski,
I had to return mine because the memory part was defective, i checked it with Storage Tools and found hundreds of bad clusters. If you use the "Automatically Fix Errors" it wont find anything but with out it.... Woooaaaa plenty of them.

yes, in the PC Mag version of pocketWiNc, i can enable the wep and get on most of the time.
It actually becomes addicting to see who has an access point, not even to see if i can get on.
