Is my Axim X5 dying?
I get an error message when I turn my Dell Axim X5 On saying, notification error "Cannot execute\windows\PowerStateOn.exe" What does that mean and why does it keep popping up. Juest to give you some background my Li-Ion rechargeable batteries 3.7V 3200mAh no longer hold charges. Even the batterie that came with the Axim dwindles down in short periods a day. I find myself restoring constantly.
Can this be fixed or would I have to get it repaired, if there is a repair place. Dell don't seem to know to much about the product they manufactured. Is there another company I could send it to or would it be too costly. I can't afford a new dell right now and love this one. It has served me fine for years. I seem to have shor term memory loss and need it to tell me EVERYTHING!! When I say EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING. Not because I'm lazy but because I truly can't remember squat! So I need it like a fish needs water. Do you think you can help? Has anyone had this problem. Please email me, if it's not out of line with your answer(s). Chris (admin) or Gee Gee has always had an answer for me so have you all. I'll be waiting. my email address is jae422@sbcglobal.net. I hope I'm not doing anything wrong by giving you my email address, if so, please forgive me. I'm deseprate!

Use a file explorer to see what is in \Windows\StartUp\. My guess is that there is a shortcut in the startup folder that points to the executable "PowerStateOn.exe". That file is not in my Windows folder. Does it actually exist in your Windows folder?
You also may be restoring from a bad backup file. You could try hard-resetting and then manually reinstall data and programs.

It doesn't exist on my X5 either.
What operating system are you using? Have you upgraded to WM 2003 (SE)? If you have MemMaid it will list start up items. It will also indicate the Notification Queue. If PowerStateOn is listed then delete it.
