I read somewhere that the CR2032 backup battery should last about a year. Well ive have changed mine twice in the last week and now its telling me its flat again !!! Is this a problem with thte X5 Or have i bought a duff set of batteries

it could be a problem with the battery contacts or the battery not clean enough itself. Many X5 users had this issue with the contacts and battery backup. Search the X5 forums for other replies and remedies. Some cleaned the battery very good, some lifted the contacts up a bit, some placed a small piece of paper between battery and cover to make sure there was a solid connection with the battery (that is the option I did on mine).

Or, you could have bought some dead batteries??

Hi c0kecan, I have the same problem, my Axim X5 sqawks that the backup battery is dead (it is not). Sounds like a manufacturing flaw. It is a nuisance, but not a serious problem.
