Mad ROM update issues

I have been trying to update the ROM on my AXIM, everytime it is ready to start, I get an error that it cannot update because the battery power is too low. Am I the only person that has seen this?

Thanks

You should be on the charger when doing an update and not dependant on battery power. Let it go to full charge overnight and then upgrade while still power by AC. If this doesn't work clean your battery and the battery holder contacts as best you can. Soft pink pencil erasures have worked for me. I would be leery of spraying contact cleaner into the Axim. If you have to use liquid, put it lightly on an applicator first, then rub ob the contacts.

Also have you run the battery calibration? The internal software may be off.

For an odd idea. Is this an older AXIM with the original ROM? You might try upgrading to AO3 first, which has a battery patch.

Batteries do wear out. Most good ones go about 1000 charges, losing capacity all the time. (This is not memory effect). Can you temporarily swap main batteries with someone.

And finally - just because you took it out of the package fresh, doesn't guarantee the backup battery is good. Check it.

Hope something works.
