X5 agere cf WiFi card

PLease help
ok here goes;

Dell Axim X5
pocket pc version 4.20.1081 (build 13100)
1996-2003
intel (R) pxa 255

Agere wireless LAN CF card

I can not for the love of anything get this card to function/operate in any way.

Do I need drivers ? (type & where can they be found)
How do I get these drivers off my laptop and onto the axim?
-asuuming I RUN them first on the laptop?
then do I copy & paste onto the Axim ; if so where which sub/folder ?

Please talk to me in Dummies language, i've no idea what Root files or the differance between .exe .cab etc
Everyone says this should work, but Ive no idea how??
Treat my knowlwdge as nil, I wont be offended, but I WILL be hugly greatful.

I have been trying for days, and getting nowhere, Im soo frustrated:azz
Please HELP thank you ..

Yes, you need drivers. You can use Google to see if you can find specific drivers for this card for Windows Mobile 2003 (WM03=version 4.20 you reported). A quick search gave several possibilities but I didn't look too closely.

It's possible the Intersil reference drivers will work with this card (if it has a Prism chipset, which many CF cards do). These drivers are most easily installed with sHARD>>'s Perfect Prism utility.

If the driver file is a '*.cab,' (like Perfect Prism) you copy it to a temporary folder on the PPC and execute the file from a file explorer. If it is an '*.exe,' you generally execute it on the PC while the PPC is connected by ActiveSync.
