Apparently I need monkey directions, sorry. I think I have actually gotten the drivers synced over to my Axim, but now what? How do I "run" or install them? In fact, how do I even open them?

If the driver file was an executable that was run on your PC while your device was connected via ActiveSync, then they should have been installed during the sync. They will 'run' when you insert the card.

Download S24MC392B67_01.exe to your PC
(I have a folder named Axim on my C: drive for all Axim drivers/apps)
This is a self-extracting file containing Mobile Companion and the drivers
Run the self-extracting file: S24MC392B67_01.exe
It will create sub-directories with the setup/install program
Connect your Axim to your PC with ActiveSync running and your Axim recognized
Run the setup.exe file in the Mobile Companion Installer sub-directory
There are three options:
[ ] Install Mobile Companion on this computer
[ ] Install Mobile Companion on a Mobile 2003 device
[ ] Install drivers only on a Mobile 2003 device.
After several installs due to hard resets, I found I had the best results if I installed the drivers only FIRST (third selection)
After the necesssary soft reset, reconnect with ActiveSync and run the setup program again to install the Mobile Companion app.

You still have to configure the device for the WiFi connection you're trying to establish but it saves the profiles so when you are within range of a connection you've made before it will do an auto-connect for you.

The Symbol LA4137 is a great card for portables due to the very low power consumption. It has very good range and seems to work at distances comparable to my laptop. It's even found hotspots my laptop didn't notice. I wish I had a /g version instead of the /b but ya' can't have everything.

Good luck.

X5 and Symbol Networker

I have an Axim X5 just upgraded it to 2003 and a Symbol Wireless Networker CF card (LA-4127-1020-WW). I've downloaded and installed the correct drivers from Symbol. X5 sees the card and reports that it is receiving a strong signal, but every time I try to select a web page in IE it reports that it cannot find the page. How do I correctly set up this card to work?

Ok Heres what worked for me: download files: s24drvr392b67-01.exe driver file, s24mc392b67-01.exe mobile companion file. You might have them already. They are zip files-you'll need winzip or any unzip program.I created a axim download folder and put them there.
Doubble click the drvr file. extract to what ever folder it says (pay attention) usually
c:/symbol_v3.9.2 all the files you need will be there. My problem was VISTA will not run the installer only for older windows. So went to c:/symbol_v3.9.2/mobile companion installer copied the installer folder then went to my device (pda) application data folder
and pasted it there. open pda explorer, open app data folder, open mobile folder, open ndi folder, click on ppc2003_drv and wala drivers install. pop card in should light up and (work if set up right)
