Latest ROM for X5 ppc2003 400mhz? + Main Battery

I can't search for words with 3 letters like "ROM", so it's hard to find this info. Actually if you try to search for 2 letter words like "CF" it tells you that's too short, but if you try to search for "ROM" it just tells you there's no results :(. I have A05 (07170300EN)

Also, how do I know for sure if I have 2003? I believe I do, but I shelved my X5 for a couple of years so a lot of my limited knowledge is gone or rusty. In settings/about I have Pocket PC Version 4.20.1081 (Build 13100).

I've been using the X5 for the last couple of weeks with mapopolis with no gps unit, just for the maps you know, and the battery life has been good, and the charging time seemed normal. Then last night I got a Holux CR271 CF gps and installed it and overnight the main battery was 0% from 100% before bed. When I then charged it, it went to 100% really fast, then I could actually watch the battery level drop for the first 25% in like 15 minutes, and it continued to apparently discharge (or report that it was discharging) rapidly while turned off or in use, like without use it's going to be down to 0% in about 6 hours. So I ordered a battery, but if there's a rom update, which I can't really find on dell.com anyway, I think that's worth checking out. According to switcher bar there's no apps running, and I've done several soft resets. I did see a CF update on dell.com, which is what I was thinking could be the problem, but I don't know how to see what version of that driver I have. I was getting backup battery warnings last week which I replaced and that seemed to work just fine.

I have the same build in my X5 which is WM2003 (aka pocket pc 2003) which is the most recent rom for it.

As an FYI, I also use the same GPS receiver with it. I use it with an extended 2000mah battery but the rercriver does not use that much power. I can get a good couple hours with no external power source while geocaching with it which gets it down to approx 50% level.

OK thanks, I used it today and it seems like part of the problem may have been in the reporting of 100% prematurely.

What gps software are you using?

I use beeline GPS software for geocaching. I was using an older version of TomTom NAVIGATOR on my x5 for road navigation but I bought a dedicated TomTom device for cheap last year which had updated maps. The X5 worked great for road GPS when I used it because the speakers are very loud.
