Aximsitemobileicon Problems downloading software

I have just "re-activated" my X5 and tried downloading some software for it tonight and neither of the programs that downloaded worked.

I've got the Xscale processor at 300 MHZ and my Pocket PC version is 3.0.11171.

I'm syncing things via an HP Pavillion running Vista and all of my contacts and calendar info synced perfectly, but the downloaded programs didn't, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks for any help anyone can lend! - Jerry Landrum

Welcome to the site Jlandrum,

What software were you downloading, just for reference?

The main thing to point out here is be aware of the file extensions on the programs you download. An extension like .msi indicates a desktop installer. A program that you can double click on the desktop of your computer, or any where on the computer for that matter, and as long as you are connected via activesync, and the program is compatible with your PDA's OS, it should install fine. if the extension on the program file is .cab, you will need to copy the cabinet file to your axim via activesync, and tap on it once it is on the axim to install! As Pedah said, you need to determine what kind of install file it is in order to know how to install it. Take a look at the tutorial about installing programs in my signature for more details.

BTW, welcome to the site!
