Moving Axim to different PC & ActiveSynch

The laptop that my Axim is connected to died last night. To duplicate its functionality on the new laptop, is it just a matter of downloading/installing ActiveSynch and plugging the X5 in?

If the new laptop is running Vista, then you'll need to install Windows Mobile Device Center to it instead of ActiveSync and use that to sync your device to your computer. If the new laptop is running XP, then you just install ActiveSync to the laptop and sync your device. In both cases, you'll set up a partnership in the same way and sync the device in the same way.

You can download ActiveSync from Microsoft's website to your computer. Then select it and the software will be installed to your computer.

Thanks for all your help. One final question: how can I determine the OS version on the X5?
