AXIM 5 stuck at screen set-up

I just recently decided to take my old AXIM 5 out of my drawer, rechaerge it and see if I couldn't start using it again. It charged up, but when I start the Windiow Mobile OS it gets stuck at the screen set-up interface. It goes through all the steps, but never progresses past this point. Perhaps, I tried a hard reset, but that didn't work. Anyone ever have this problem or know how to fix it? Maybe I could reload the OS, but can't find it anymore. Is the OS still available for this?

Do you get the dell logo and the windows mobile logo.

I get to where you punch on the multiple screen + symbols to align your touch screen. It never gets past this palce. It gowes through the corbners and center and just starts all over again.:rolling:

I have the same problem, except while I was using it before it randomly selected/clicked on different things. I did a hard reset and I can't get past the screen setup. I wonder if it is a part that needs to be replaced.

This is what I did, I took out all the batteries and let it sit. Then, about 2 weeks later I tried it again and it still didn't work and then I took the batteries out again and tried it the next day. It worked. I don't know if I was lucky or it just needed a rest, but its worth a try. I now am using it again and the screen automatically clicking things has started again AFTER I installed the programs again so I think its a virus. I am looking into it more.

Sounds like you might want to try to reflash a ROM, also I don't think its a virus, there's only a few for ppc.
