Activesync disconnects constantly

I wasn't sure which forum to post this under, and I don't know what else to try.

My X5 does not stay connected via Activesync 3.7 for very long to my desktop. I've perfomed a hard reset, but it didn't seem to make any difference.

I've also gone back to try Activesync 3.6 and 3.5, but still, no difference.

Why can't I keep a connection with activesync?

Does it randomly disconnect? Mine does the same. I've tried leaving ActiveSTINK minimized in my tray, but I don't know that this has had any effect.

Sometimes it will stay connected for quite some time and other times it will drop off shortly after syncing.

Matthew,

I think I've figured it out. My X5 was dropping it's connection just every once in awhile, after being connected from 5 minutes to an hour or two. I was connected to my desktop at work using my USB cable and a powered USB hub. After I connected my cable directly to my computer, bypassing the hub, I haven't noticed it disconnecting.

At home, plugged into my Axim docking station, I don't have a problem with it disconnecting.

I am having the same problem. Drops after 5 mins on. Have to remove and put back on cradle. Mine is connected directly to my computer. Someone help please. I had this problem after I installed wm 2003 then read a thread on here to change my options in activsync that worked for awhile now having problems again.

I had the same problem, I updated the Activesync client to version 3.7.1. (build 3244). After this, I don't have this problem anymore.

We have the same problem with the latest drivers and software with 5 Axim X5 advanced PDA's on different workstations. I read somewhere that the Axim is very hungry on the USB...when connected diretly to the PC's USB ports (motherboard) the problem occurs. We have since installed PCI USB cards and the problem has disappeared.
