That would suck. I am glad I saved my image. I didn't think I had when I was looking to downgrade, but luckily I had. Sorry, I don't know where, or if, you can get a 2002 image.

Hi
I have an axim x5 and bought an magicstor 2,2 GB drive.
I think ?!? I have ppc2002 installed
Systeminfo: (ROM-Version: A01 (...))
Info: Microsoft Pocket PC Version 4.20.1081

I cannot get the drive to work, the display froze and I cannot find the CF-Card.
The Slot is OKay (WirlessLAN and 256MB Card works fine)

Can anybody help me??

You have 2003. Your Pocket PC version is above 4.0, which means it is a version of 2003. If it had 3.X then it would be 2002. Your only option is to either sell the drive, keep the drive and not use it in you Axim, or get a different PPC with a CF slot. Really sorry.

Thanks for your Info.

I got a Lizense for PocketPC 2002 with the Handheld.
(Dell CD: Outlook 2000 and PocketPC 2002 Prem w/ Outlook2000)
But th CD wont help me at all, right? I read somewhere that ther is no System on that CD.

So if I got a backup image from "somewhere" I could install that and use the drive in the axim x5, is that right?

Sorry for asking these elementary questions, but I just start to get this thing working.

Hypothetically speaking, if you were to obtain a backup of the PPC 2002 that was supposed to come with your Axim, and used the Dell Backup/Restore utility with the 2003 upgrade CD, you could restore the 2002 ROM image (which it what I did). The drive would then work. As mentioned, this is a Axim/2003 specific problem. I have a Toshiba e800 running 2003, and it works great, as did my Axim running 2002.

There IS a backup on the original Dell CD I got with the Axim??
I must be blind (Should use a yellow sign with three black dots for Avatar)
What is the Name of the File on the Disc, I could not find anything.
On the Update CD I found the install tool and everything, but not on the original CD.

Smeg's referring to a "backup" that's kinda-sorta "obtained"-by-you.

Has anyone else seen this problem - I have the Magicstore 2.2 gig Plus card and my Axim is not able to write to it.

I have PPC2002 and it is able to recognize, read from, and format the microdrive.

But when I actually try to copy files to it from the PPC or through active sync it gives an error. PPC will give error that device is not connected properly, and PC says card full or write protected.

I can copy files to it through a card reader or my sisters PPC (audiovox Maestro) such as games movies and MP3's and my axim WILL play them...

Any help would be appreciated.
