Disconnected on Email
Hello,
I check my email every day through Outlook Express on my Axim but for some reason it dissconnects me after checking my email or sending a message. How do I keep it from disconnecting everytime. Its very time consuming and annoying. I am using a 56 K Socket Modem. Any help?

on you Axim open ActiveSync-> tools-> options-> check maintain connection. ActiveSync will maintain connection with your computer until you stop it. Perfect for downloading new programs to your Axim !

Hi Greg,
Did you manage to resolve this problem? I have the same issue, and setting the ActiveSync to "remain connected" did nothing helpful.

Question:
Are you using the auto-dial function in INBOX to make the initial modem connection?
If so, then INBOX is designed to disconnect after sending and receiving messages.
The solution is to use the connections menu to make the modem connection. Then INBOX will not disconnect.
(I'm pretty sure about this, however, it's been quite some time since I used dialup from my transfer to WIFI with DSL)
Try it and let the other user know if it solves the problem.

Thanks KPDuty,
I am using 2003, and there doesn't deem to be a way of avoiding the auto dialer.
However, even when I dial out with IE first, the connection is still closed when the e-mail disconnects....
Cheers
John

Hello,
Well, right now I can't think of what I did, but I did solve the problem. Sorry that I can't remember. It seems there was some option I had to choose to fix it, just try looking around in the Outlook Email Options, or soemthing like that.
