A05 Reinstall?

Ever since I installed the A05 rom update, I've had stability issues on my Axim X5 Advance PXA250. The latest one is that after the installation of Calligrapher 6.5.2, everything works fine except that when the unit goes into standby it won't come out, requiring a soft reset.

I want to try "reburning" the ROM into the unit, because I suspect perhaps there was an error when I installed the update the first time. Does anyone know how to do this? The setup app won't let me. Is it simply as easy as renaming the correct image file to an .ris file and using the restore facility in the setup.exe program? Thanks in advance.

When you installed the upgrade for the first time it prompted you to create a backup file for the existing PPC2002 ROM. The ROM upgrade app also includes a utility that will reflash the old ROM back if you did do the backup. From there you should be able to reflash A05.

That said, I doubt that it will make any difference...

Unfortunately, some programs have compatibility issues with WM 2003. That might be the problem you are having. Yes, you could reflash by the method doogald suggested if you saved your old ROM.

Normaly if you flash the program is checking if everything is correct written. So I think that's correct. If then after installing programs going something worng you should first do a reset and if that's not working a hard reset so you Axim is going back to the basic installation. Ok you're then everything lost but you're back to a clean Axim. I've done also an update and it's still working without problems
