Question CF card not showing amount of used space

I remember reading something similar not long ago... <shrugs>

I have a 256 MB Simpletech CF card that contains somewhere between 40-100 megs of mp3's. When I use the internal and Resco functionalities to check for used space on the CF card, it shows that there is NO used space...all free. I formatted the card before use, ditched the 'ignore' folder and created 'My Documents'. Did the same for the PNY SD card but the amount of used space IS reflected when checked. Soft reset does not change this.

Ideas?

Oh well, seems that a reformat with a card reader did the trick. Now back to transferring mp3's.

EDIT: scratch that, after turning the Ax off for a while and then re-checking the CF card, it's back to not showing used space in Resco and thru start, settings, system. screw it...

Re-formatted again with a card reader in FAT, not FAT32, and that seems to have done the trick. The amount of used space on the CF card is displayed even after a couple of power cycles. Just remember to add a My Documents folder if you decide to delete ignore_my_docs.
