X5 no longer Syncs.

Help if anyone can.......

I have been regularly synchronizing my X5 at both home and work. I have been taking the cradle home every weekend and using it there.
Last friday, I had trouble getting the X5 to connect while in the cradle. But after a few tries, it sync'ed right up.
Took the cradle home Friday and set it up. I couldn't synchronize, the PC at home never recognized anything in the cradle. Now it doesn't sync here at work either.
The cradle is charging the X5, but not synchronizing with anything at all.

Any suggestions??

ok so, i have had many activesync problems, heres my two cents:

1. reinstall activesync on pc
2. perform soft reset

if neither of those work do this (this will only work if you have wifi card or card reader)

1. download trial version of pocket backup plus
2. install (i know u cant, cuz u cant connect but just try, it will say, "during the next sync the program will be installed or something like that"
3. On your pc go to c/program files/microsoft activesync and there should be a pocket backup plus file there
4.open it, there should be a .cab file of the program itself, put that cab on ur card reader or get it to your ppc itself through wifi
5.excexute .cab file
6. Run pocket backup plus
7.make backup of everything EXCEPT FILE SYSTEM and SYSTEM REGISTRY
8. hard reset
9. restore previous backup

that will definetaly work if it is a software issue with your axim, i was activesyncless for about two months until i figured that out, keep that option as a last resort

Thanks!!

Wow.
I will try your suggestion. So far, I have spent a few hours lurking around the dell axim x5 forum and this is NOT an isolated incident!!
Dell does NOT seem to be doing anything about it either.
Other solutions I have heard of are.....

"I FIXED MY ISSUES WITH SYNCING THE AXIM. DON'T INSTALL THE ACTIVE SYNC SOFTWARE OFF THE DELLS DRIVERS DISK, DOWN LOAD THE VER OFF THE WEB SITE 3.7.1, DON'T INSTALL UNTIL YOU INSTALL MS OUTLOOK FIRST , THEN INSTALL 3.7.1 . I HAVE BENN CONNECTED FOR 7 DAYS WITHOUT A CUT OFF. I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE OUT THERE.
MORRIS"

"Most other threads are reporting that a powered USB hub will correct the problem."

"I may have fixed the problem. I deleted Active Sync from the PC. I removed all associates files such as wcescomm, wceslog, etc. I then rebooted the PC. After that I reloaded ActiveSync 3.7.1. I then did a soft reboot on the Axim. When I tried to sync again it asked, as expected to form a new partnership. It did that and has worked for two days now. Hope it's a permanent fix."

I admit I've not yet tried any of these as my PC is currently down. As soon as I try something, I'll report back here.

Thanks,
MPbasher!

Haven't we all.

It is a travesty that we all still accept AS as the best we can do.
