Should I keep the replacement?

Several months ago I called Dell complaining about the voice recorder. Dell said they would FedEx a replacement. Yesterday it arrived. In the interim I fiddled with the settings on the old one and got it to work OK.

Question: Do I keep the old one or the replacement?

The old one has been working OK; I don't know how the replacement will fare;

The old one has PPC Ver. 3.0 and Processor A02.

The refurb replacement has PPC Ver. 4.20 and Processor A05.

Could someone please translate and explain the differences.

Do I kepp the replacement or send it back?

The original one you have is running PPC2002 with ROM version A02. The new one you got is running WM2003 with a ROM version of A05. Personally, I would keep the new one and get rid of the old one by returning it to Dell. Make sure the voice recorder work properly on the new one just like you had with the old one.

Keep teh new one after, and only after, putting it thru its paces, making sure stress it as much as possible....just my two cents worth.

I didn't think you could keep the old one. I got a replacement unit for my X5 and as I recall there was a line on the bill that mentioned I'd have to pay the equivalent if I didn't return the old unit.

I did get an invoice (6 months to get replacement, 3 days to get invoice) and I WILL return the replacement if I am not happy with it and tear up the invoice!
