D-Pad Issue

now, I know this issue has been discussed many many many many times, but I am trying to figure out a solution. Now most of us would agree that the Dpad is mushy on mostly the UP and RIGHT direction. I'm not sure if this is a software issue (drivers that electronically make the connection?) or hardware problem, I think its mostly a hardware problem

If anyone knows of any possible links of driver updates for this please post.

If this is a hardware issue, is there a "Do-it-yourself" way of fixing this, I would like to avoid sending in my axim and getting a new one. Is there a guide on....oh lets say.... taking apart your axim and puting plastic between two buttons? or something like that. If there is that would be great, Im just trying to figure out a quick solution without getting dell involved

coolhand, a member here at Aximsite, did a D-Pad mod back in June and had success. Here are the threads where he discusses what he did:

D-Pad Mod - Part 1

D-Pad Mod - Part 2 - Internal Pictures

Unfortunately, the pictures seem to have been removed from the webspace he had them on. I think I might have saved them somewhere, and will post them if I find them tomorrow....
