Scroll Dial
What do you use the scroll dial for? I haven't found a use for mine.
Also, is your scroll button as hard to push as mine? The first time I pushed it I thought I was going to break it.

The scroll dial is most useful, IMO, when using Pocket IE. It's very nice to be able to scroll through my AvantGo subscriptions as I would scroll with the mouse wheel on the desktop. I never use it as an enter key because of the stiffness.

My scroll dial makes a slightly audible click when I push it in, it does seem a bit stiff when I have to push it in though. I use the D-pad for the 'enter' function instead. :)

The scroll tab is excellent for turning pages in an ebook, or moving up and down in a pdf book, but it also has a job controlling brightness.
Press in the scroll tab and then use the d-pad up/down for backlight level.
If you button-map your hardware buttons in W media player, and use the d-pad up/down for volume, the scroll toggle will control volume also.
Basically, the scroll tab is the same thing as the d-pad up/down.

Like others have mentioned, the scroll is great for webpages/ebooks/media control.
I concur about breaking the 'action function' -- the first time I pressed it, I seriously thought I broke something because of how flimsy the scroller is, while the hard 'click' prompted an audible noise. I thought I have accidently forced the scroll to mis-align or something! Gave me a good scare :p I barely use it now, not because of afraid of breaking it, but it's just too darn hard to press without hurting my digits.
Cheers.

I believe that most of the buttons are designed to have that snap or tactical feedback feel to them that assures that contact has been made. If you notice the four application buttons on the front have a slight tackical feel to them with an audible snap when pressed. The On-Off switch at the top has an even greater snap when pressed. Of course the loudest snap is the Scroll Enter selection.
I rarely ever cut off my Axim and let it time out on its own. Figure that saves wear and tear on the switch. If I am using one of the 4 front button applications, I rarely use the ON switch at the top since the application buttons take me directly to the page that I am looking to find immediately.

Thanks all.
I haven't been reading any e-books yet.
I'll try it out.

There are many registry edit programs that can scale the scroll bar to about half of its original size. I'm using it and I'm very happy with it.

My scroll bar size is 9 (width and height). It does not work in every program but in almost every...
