Mad Pocket PC 2003 Problems

I recently replaced my Axim X5 with PPC 2002 because of a cracked screen. My new Axim X5 came with PPC 2003. I have had to reset my device more than 3 times a day because of malfunctioning applications. I also installed an alarm application which allowed for multiple repeating alarms but the cause my today screen to hang.

I have had nothing but problems with this version of PPC. Are there any patches available? I want to give PPC 2003 a chance before a reinstall PPC 2002.

I guess you need to review your favourite applications and check out if you need to use an upgraded version - my first experience of wm2003 was after installing it I reloaded all my app's - then went to install HP mobile printing which caused a hard reset & I had to start all over again.

On the whole seems as stable as ppc2002 (imho) some issues and some users will have issues with particular problems - but I guess that were sites like this one & achilles-site come in soooo good!

To echo bernie_rubber, are your apps WM 2003 compatible? If not, you have little recourse.

I have WM 2003 and find it faster, more stable, and in every way worth measuring better than PPC 2002. Of course, and as usual, you mileage may vary.

Lord I did the upgrade and i couldn't get home fast enough to revert back to PPC2002. I had problems with the ppc not waking up for alarms and the affected the wake for sprite backups automated backup process. Also had a problem with sound and the wireless ability of the dlink wireless card i have so i threw WM2003 out in a hurry. maybe the clean install of wm2003 is good and stable from the factory but I just could not have an OS the was that buggy. (skipped windows ME as well for the same reason)

Installed WM2003 without a problem and it has proved to be much more stable than 2002. It is faster and I haven't had a screen freeze - something that 2002 used to do a lot.
