Reset button broken

Here's a funny one for you... well, kind of sad actually as my warranty is gone.

My Axim wasn't working and there seemed to be something loose inside. I as able to just open up the side by the reset button and get the tip of a stylus and a small piece of electronic equipment out. Tried powering on the Axim and it worked fine.

I installed some new software for Rachel (my oldest daughter) to try out. It was a great game - Aerobeak - but as luck would have it after playing for a few minutes a screen popped up asking for the registration code. We were unable to exit this screen for some reason. I went to do a soft reset and *gasp* it doesn't work! Guess that piece of electonics that came out must've had something to do with the reset button.

I have Handmenu installed that can be used to do a soft reset, but if the screen is frozen it doesn't do any good. What makes this even more funny is that I cannot install anything on any CF card in my Axim. I have tried reformatting the cards and everything. I keep getting a message on my PC that the card is full. I have verified on my Ax that the card is empty. If I put the card in my 2215 it works fine.

Sounds to me like you're SOL. For resetting, I would try removing the battery for a second and replacing it. As for the CF, sounds like you messed something up with that.

Looks like you may have a paperweight.
If you use Wisbar advance you can set up one of the icons to do a soft reset but if your screen is frozen that would be a problem.

Let the power drain completely and it should reset itself.

Sorry About your Luck, Consider getting 3 years warranty next time. and also you can extend your warranty as well after that for a small fee from Dell.

You should be able to get a program that does a soft-reset and map it to one of the hardware buttons instead of a on the screen.
