another ActiveSync problem (disconnecting)

Hey all,

I've been away from the boards for a while, and when I came back I found out that A03 had been released for my 300MhZ Axe. I backed up to CF and installed the new ROM version. Once installed, I restored my backup and all seemed fine. I noticed a few days later that whenever I went to sync with my desktop, it would connect then say "looking for changes..." then disconnect within a few seconds. It keeps doing this, even with my notebook system. I deleted partnerships and re-established partnerships but nothing has worked. I have not deleted the partnership from the Axe itself, just the desktop and notebook. It's frustrating becuase I just got my replacement SanDisk SD card in yesterday and want to try it out...Thanks for any help!!!

Wes

How are you syncing (cable/cradle, WiFi, IR)?

If it's via a method considered remote (and I'm not sure what this entails except WiFi is among the remote methods), you should open ActiveSync on your Axim, select Tools, Options, Schedule (tab) and uncheck the box "When synchronizing remotely..."

There may be some other settings in the AS "Options" that might pertain you you if this does not.

This thing stated happening to my Axim x5,active sync would connect for 2 seconds and then disconnect.I tried soft resers, rebooting pc ,inactivating firewall and antivirus, delete parternership and even removing activesyc from pc and reinstalling ,noting worked. Finally I did a hard reset on Axim and removed and reinstalled activesync on pc.It worked.Probably some file on Axim was corrupted and did not let sync. process proceed.

Try using Resync from www.cewindows.net/applications/resync.zip.

This is a Desktop application which usually sorts out this irritating ActiveSync disconnection problem.

Yep I use resync...also if you haven't updated some things recently you could check your version of activesync - current version is 3.7.1 which is allegedly better than previous!
