How to "Turn off" a symbol wifi card?

I have a little ad hoc wireless network running at home, with my laptop acting as a bridge between my wired network and my Axim.

When I'm at work or away from the house, where we don't have wireless but I still use my Ax, I was wondering if there was some way to switch off the wireless card so it doesn't drain any power or run the driver software in the background apart from physically unplugging the card?

I'm running PPC2002 and the latest symbol drivers.

Any help appreciated.
