Screen scratch repair
To answer questions posted elsewhere, yes, you can scratch an A5 screen with the Dell stylus!
My screen is pretty scratched up from playing Solitaire or Euchre when on hold, etc. I've seen products that claim to take the scratches out of CD's and DVD's. Anyone know if they'd do anything on a touch screen? Thanks!

I've never used it, and I don't remember what it is called but there is a kind of paste that the air force and navy uses on fight plane cockpit windows to remove scratches. I've seen this talked about on howard forums, but don't feel like looking.

Try a quality screen protector (I'm partial to the Brando, but there are plenty of others around.) A colleague had a significant scratch on his axim and after installing the Brando you couldn't feel it, and couldn't see it unless you knew where to look. It might be worth a try before you spend the money on a new digitizer.

I'm with pswets, I only had my X5 for about 2 weeks before the screen started showing signs of wear (I used it a lot), mostly in the top right corner and near the keypad, you could visibly see screen gaining a matt where the tiny scratches accumulated..and I kept my screen CLEAN and looked after the Ax.
After applying a WriteSHIELD screen protector, I no longer see the little worn areas and they wont get any bigger..so yes, buy a good screen protector (when I say _good_ I mean, one that will cost you about $14-15, Brando or WriteSHIELD are worth the money)

First off, I doubt playing solitare scratched your screen. Screens like this normally don't get scrached unless you do something major to them, or clean them alot with your shirt or similar cloths. I also play solitare a lot, as well as racing days, and the only scratches I have are from when sand got into my case without me knowing
I got a nice long scrach down my screen now, but you can't see it at all when it's got some form of screen protector on it...

this is going to sound dumb, but it realy works. Buy some toothpaste with baking soda. Using very small amounts work it into the scratch. It will buff it out. Using very small amounts and non-abrasive cloth is a must here guys. Give it a try on some other piece of similar plastic if you do no believe me. *Hint* try this with a scratched CD.

Thanks! I guess I'll invest in a protector as that reportedly hides the scratches.
As to the "dfficult to scratch" post, BUNK! Nearly every well-used PPC I've looked at has two big dots where the SOL deck is played and a series of small traces scattering from the one on the right!
