I had to format my sd card a few times, fat did not seem to work. When i accessed programs on my sd card my axim rebooted itself and wanted to reformat the card. So i went with fat32 which seems to be working much better...

Pocket Mechanic will format a memory card in various FAT formats and do a whole lot of other useful things as well.

Not free but pretty cheap (about $12.00). Worth every penny IMO. Excellent software.

Heart awesome software for SD and CF cards

http://www.cnetx.com/format/

You can download the software to evaluate or as a purchase. Tech support assisted me even though I was only evaluating the software. Thus, of course, I purchased the software. It recognizes both types of cards and will format or attempt a repair.

Have a wonder...
