Internet Via INFARED
Hi, Can anyone tell me if this is possible to set up an internet connection via my mobile phone over infared? I have tried entering all the dial up number and infomation from my o2Wap settings into my x5 but it keeps changing the dial up number adding extra numbers at the start. Is this even possible?
Many thanks!

Lemme guess, the extra numbers added at the start is 425? If so, then Uncle Bill wants you to dial the area code of Redmond, WA.

No, When I press connect on the x5 it says its dialing.....my phone doesn't make any kind of call, and the number dialing on the screen is 9,011,(the dial up number from my phone)
Does the settings used have to be WAP settings or GPRS settings?
thanks

Ive set mine up for o2 wap aswell and also had this problem at first so I had to mess about with the number and dialing locations to sort it (PPC2002) This is in the UK btw....
In Settings -> Connections make a new Internet connection called o2wap (or whatever).
In the Modem part, choose Generic IrDA modem, Baud rate of 9600 and put the number in as:-
Code: 44
Area Code: 7712
Phone number: 927927 (for o2 wap)
Click Next, then uncheck 'wait for dial tone...' Then click Finish
Proxy settings should be 'This network connects to Internet' an OK it.
Then choose the Dialing locations tab, and make a new location called Mobile (or whatever) Click on dialing patterns.
For local calls: g
For long distance: +44fg
For international: fg
Then OK it
If you have one of the 300 mins free wap SIMs then you can use this to check emails and surf the net too, all be it slowly.
