Question D-Link 660w install problems, x5 ppc2003

Axim X5 basic
D-Link WCF660w
ROM A05

ok, i don't know if it's just cause i'm dead tired and sick of trying this or what, but i couldn't find anything in the forums that helped me to fix the problem. first activesync wasn't working right, but i dled 3.7 and it's working. then... i figured i needed the newest drivers especially since ppc 2003 seems to have so many issues like that. during the time i was working on it i sware the site changed. at first there was a listing for drivers that worked with the x5, then there was a general ppc2003 beta driver with the dell listed as functional with the driver. so i did all of that...

i tried both drivers, both to no avail. i have the D-Link DCF660W listed amoung my adapters in my wireless ethernet category, but it seems like it does nothing for me. i don't have any app that lets me mess with the wireless stuff, D-Link is supposed to include one right? i guess i'll try getting winic or something and report.

if anyone knows what my problem is please let me know cause i'm going nuts with this. i read in the documentation there's some file i should see in my system menu, but alas... no.

I have a D-Link WCF660w working just fine in an Axim X5. I suggest you uninstall the dirvers you loaded so that there is no D-Link driver. Then load the 2002 driver from the D-Link CD. Select the default directory. Do this with the card in the Axim. When the install is complete go to start/settings/system and you should see an icon labeled DCF-660W. Tapping that should give you access to configure the card and view it's performance.

rather odd though that they specifically designed beta drivers for the axim and the 2002 driver works :/, anyway, thanks a lot :)
