Buttons not working

guess what, my hardware buttons just plain stopped working. Now what. A soft reset doen't help. Should I hard reset. Should I backup before I hard reset. I'm a little worried. I have no idea what to do, and I don't want to wait weeks for another axim

whats even weirder is they work fine when the axim is turned off (or at least they all turn the axim on when they should) So I guess I can rule out hardware problems. I guess I will have to hard reset.

Interesting ... i have had my axim for 3 months now and have never had that problem ... occasionally it freezes or slows down and i do a soft reset ... seems to clear things up. Keep us posted on what you do to fix it.

I'm working on restoring from backup now. This just brings up my one prblem with PPC. It is less stable than palm OS. Not because it crashes less, but because it's problems are harder to fix. For Palm a hard reset was really easy to recover from.

same issue

I have the same problem, the middle button works, the others don't. But...oddly the non working buttons will turn the Axim on if I push them when it's off. They just don't do anything when the axim is on.

They used to work, last week in fact.

Did the Hard Reset work?

Also, what is the difference between a soft and hard reset?

If I do have to do a Hard Reset to fix it, is it possible to store all the info on my computer and then reload it all without incident?

I've never installed the Vindows program, running basic Axim software. So I don't think that would apply to me.

Still looking for way to fix this button issue...if hard reset is my only option, and how do i do a hard reset w/out loseing data.

I would say just do a full backup and hard reset the axim. Then restore everything back to regular.
