Activesync Problems

Hi - I'm having problems completing a sync of my X5. I'm using Activsync 3.7.1 with Windows 2000.

About 2 weeks ago, I began having difficulties syncing my X5. After placing in the X5 in the cradle, it connects, begins looking for changes, appears to be working and then terminates with a "sync error" and "not connected".

I have read numerous threads on this issue and have tried most of the basic fixes (running Resync, unplugging the USB, unplugging cradle, soft reset, etc.) and now am at a loss.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you make changes to the firewall software about two weeks ago?

Activesync Problems

Hmm...? That's is a good question. I'll have to talk to my IT coordinator as this is my office computer/internet connection. I'm leaning towards no, since I can sync 1 out of every 100 tries (or so).

I'll check on that and repost. Thanks.

This is an extremely irritating problem whic seems to crop up for no apparent reason.

If ReSync does not work I suspect that the only answer will be a hard reset - full backup first obviously.

You said this is a problem on a computer at work. Do you have the same problem on your home computer?
If not, I would begin looking at the differences between the two computers.
A hard reset is quite a drastic event; I would delay that until ALL other options have been exhausted.
Is your Axim still under warantee? You might want to call Dell (be prepaired for a wait).
