Mad Can't Install ActiveSync!!

Hope someone can help!!

Our I.T. department installed a new computer in my office and I initially set up a standard partnership with my Dell Axim. However, after configuring a hardware connection and sofware for an external CD writer using a parallel port, I can no longer successfully install Active Sync! I even removed ActiveSync program and tried a re-install but no success. About 91% of the way through installation I get a message:

D:\ms\actsync\main\core\inf\weusbh.cat (copy error-1)

I am then requested to restart the computer and attempt to reinstall the software, but this has not been successful. Anyone know what might be happening here???

Thansk.

What OS are you using....and could it be a firewall / anti virus problem?

It's Windows XP Professional. I'm not sure of the version. I can't understand why now I am not even able to install the ActiveSync software whereas previously I could with no problem!! Our compnay servers have firewall protection and all sorts of anti-virus software running...I think it is a local problem...
