Do a google search for the Intersil reference drivers (ISL3PRDSUIT-EXE_WinCE300(2-0-9)). They are available on at least one website and work fine with the SMC card on WM03.

I have that exact same card, used the installation from SMC's site (shouldn't be any difference, the version number is the same) and was able to install the card on my Axim X5 and my boyfriend's Ipaq 2215, both running Windows Mobile 2003. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary like pulling a .dll file (had to do that for my old Jornada 680) and it worked on the first try. All I can suggest is as with any type of peripheral, install the software before sticking the hardware in the device.

I think some people have been able to run it with the original driver. But I'll bet that's not true of Axim x5 users :) In fact, there are a number of threads in this list that show you how to use prism drivers and other 3rd party drivers to try to get it running under wm2003. So, you may be fortunate to not need the beta patch. Cheers,
Steven
