Axim turning itself on by itself???

Has anyone had a problem that dell axim would turn itself on. I am using a netgear wireless cf card. Sometimes if it just sits on table i hear a beep and its comes on. I also had it come on its it dell case this i think maybe the button was getting hit when it was riding in car. I think i put it in backwards. But is there a way to keep it off by some sequence of the power button so just hitting it doesn't turn it on??? It has killed my battery many times, I know i could just remove battery when its in car.

Thanks all,
Phil

You could change how long the Axim stays awake while on battery. Move it down in time. My CF card sometimes wakes my Axim up, so I usually remove it when not using it.

Check your Activesync settings. If it's set to sync every 5 minutes then the Axim will "wake" and try to sync. Any appointment reminders will also cause the Axim to "wake" and alarm.

Cool Axim turning on by itself....

I had this happen a few times that I could not explain. I have since loaded Magic Button. This is a handy utility that changes the way the PDA shuts down programs and can turn its self completly off. You can find it at http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/utilities.shtml
I am not pushing this software but tried it and believe it will help you out.
Keep in mind if you have calendar dates come up the Axim will turn on and remind you if you have reminders on. Also if you have an alarm or any other reminder the Axim will turn its self on to remind you.
Enjoy!

Go into the Activesync settings and turn off the sync to server! (clear the check mark).:D
